B.A. Psychology, B.Ed., Graduate Certificate in Biblical Care and Counselling - Heritage Seminary
I would like to introduce myself, so that you can get to know me before we meet together! My name is Gayle McTiernan. I am a wife and the mother of four adult children. I am a Biblical Counsellor, with a background in Elementary Special Education. My desire is to walk alongside women and children; demonstrating how Christ wants to give them His power to live a life of freedom. I spend my time volunteering with the food program at “The Bridge”, a ministry in Kincardine. I also help out at the Harbour Church as a Harbour Kids Leader. I serve as a Mentor Mom with “MOMS” – a monthly support ministry to young moms. Finally, I participate in prayer ministry with the Harbour Church. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, painting, drawing and hiking as well as kayaking with friends when the opportunity arises.
I completed my Graduate Certificate in Biblical Care and Counselling from Heritage Seminary in April of 2026. I have my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Waterloo, my B.Ed. from Nipissing University and a Specialist in Special Education (Behaviour) from the University of Toronto. I have also completed training in Trauma Informed Care (Adverse Childhood Experiences and Resilience Learning) from The ACES Coalition of Guelph and Wellington. I retired from a 35 year career as a teacher two years ago.
I began pursuing Biblical Counselling after retiring from teaching, because I observed that many women, children and families were struggling with the pressures of adverse circumstances in their lives. I believe that God transforms our lives, giving us strength as we receive guidance from the Holy Spirit and learn how to abide in Christ. I look forward to meeting with you, listening to your struggles and growing in Christ together!
