MA Biblical Counselling from Westminster Theological Seminary

I am pastor’s wife (married for 25 years) and mom to four growing and adulting children. My family and I were privileged to serve churches in both Canada and Australia and are thankful for the many beautiful relationships we have been able to form across the world. Currently we are worshipping and serving in Smithers Canadian Reformed Church.
My heart for walking alongside others as they struggled with life’s challenges began when I was young, and I pursued a BA in Psychology from the University of Guelph. I appreciated what I learned there but felt the lack of a biblical perspective. Becoming a counsellor was put on hold as life happened to our family, but as I worked with struggling and suffering men and women in our various congregations the Lord pressed upon my heart to become more equipped from a biblical perspective. I began with CCEF and then, by God’s grace and my husband’s encouragement, I was able to complete my Masters of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. I have also completed Certification Levels 1 and 2 from the Christian Trauma Healing Network.
It has been my privilege to walk with many men and women as together we discover the transforming work of the Gospel. Whether we are facing deep suffering, the effects of a broken world, relational heartache, the consequences of our sin or the sin of others against us, I believe that knowing God and his saving work through Jesus’ death and resurrection provides hope, transformative help, daily strength, new life, and the courage to grow and love in the midst of struggle. My counselling is Biblically focused, Christ-centered, Spirit dependent.
Some areas I regularly work in: Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Trauma, Childhood Sexual Trauma, Support for Mental Illness Diagnosis (self, or family member), Marriage, Grief, Anxiety, Depression, Parenting, Teens.
